We spend a lot of time waiting for things. From public transport, to waiting for family or firends, or even using the bathroom.

Wouldn't it be great to have the opportunity to learn about things that you didnt even know that you wanted to learn about.

We wanted an app that could utlise these small bits of time, and gain something, just a little more. Learn about sciences? Animals, what have you.

Enter Flashme!

A flashcard inspired app that focues on short attention learning (be it a spare 5 minutes, 10 minutes).

Open Invoicing

Team Name:
The troll slayers

We envisage a future where millions of small businesses no longer need to handle shoe boxes full of receipts and invoices becuase they just appear in their financial system.  We envisage a future where high growth medium businesses are no longer cashflow cosntrained because debtor financers can verify appoval directly with buyer systems.  The hack leverages abr.gov.au , the national e-invoicing standard, and vanguard.gov.au.

Orange is the New Hack

We like trolling through mounds of data to see the secrets behind. We are data nerds and "Orange is the New Hack" is our team.

Our tool aids local council and state authorities, as well as layperson to learn about the safest times and places to visit in Sydney city.

Users can easily explore this mashed up data in an interactive and visual way, and find powerful insights into the relationship between weather and crime patterns in the Sydney  CBD, and well as common hotspots for crime and the predominant type of offences that are occurring in our city.

The Motivation

Following the recent increase in support for nationalist and far right parties in the recent Federal election - I wanted to look at Australian communities that, through the election, have shown the most concern about immigration.

I chose to focus on the immigration of Muslim people specifically, as this a current social issue that is challenging Australia's multicultural status.

Background

AAYA

Team Name:
AAYA

Pitch:

AAYA is an innovative platform which aims to reduce a parent's stress and costs related to childcare. It allows a parent to select a Childcare using information that matters to them and help a parent reduce costs by getting some form of refund  for their child's inability to attend a child care for various reasons. AAYA transform the inability into a vacancy which others can use and pay for.  This creates value for all involved including the economy where the concept increases the income of the stakeholders and creates effeciency in the sector.
