Problems Identified:

We have examined the overall problem of data security which is a growing concern globally. We have applied our focus for the GovHack event toward the Government Health sector which can be a vulnerable area of concern. Our findings lead us to the particular issue of "ransomeware" that highlights this problem to be a growing concern whereby 4000 attacks occur daily across the world in the health sector alone of which Australia would be included.

Tolls Board Game:

The Tolls Board Game is a virtual board game poking light hearted jabs and educating people about the poor state of sydney roads.

We are using the Transport NSW Roads realtime dataset to take travel time on popular sydney roads, using this to calculate cost incurred when another player lands on a player owned road.

We believe this creates a dynamic boardgame experience where skill and knowledge comes first and luck second.

Home Sweet Home: Keeping up with the theme of "Games for Learning”, our team has decided to come up with a fun game to make learning interactive using the vast data sets available for all species. The intent of the game is to geographically place the species on a specific location (throughout Australia) based on their scientific names. Another cool idea we are implementing is to do a Flickr image search to receive the images for each scientific species name.
