In 2015, we have 59,700 people from all over the world moved to New Zealand, and the number is increasing every year. Most of the immigrants have the same question before they come to New Zealand: where should I go.

LiveIn is a web application to help immigrants to find the best-fit city in New Zealand. It can tell you which city fits you best based on your profile and the open government statistics. You can load your facebook profile into LiveIn, or you can answer some questions and find out which city fits you best.

The recommendation is done by combining data from various sources, including statistics about population, income, ethnic group, rent, and immigrants.

This app can also help people who already live in New Zealand but want to move to a different place.

To provide the recommendation, LiveIn uses following data sources to compare different regions in New Zealand.

  • Census data from Statistics New Zealand to provide statistics about population, ethnic groups, and income in different regions.
  • Immigration statistics from Immigration New Zealand to provide statistics about immigrants' occupations and employment regions.
  • Rent data from Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment to provide statistics about rent cost in different regions.

By using these data, LiveIn can provide recommendations for new immigrants and people already in New Zealand.
